12x12: Disability communities x Alison Bergblom Johnson

  • Powderhorn Park Recreation Center 3500 South 15th Avenue Minneapolis, MN, 55407 United States (map)

Alison Bergblom Johnson leads an ensemble of people with disabilities "telling stories of our lives now, exploring questions about how we perceive ourselves, other disabled people, people without disabilities, and community."

The event will be live captioned in-person and online. A limited number of assisted listening devices are available. Please forward any other accessibility requests to tey@mixedblood.com, and we will do our absolute best to accommodate.

The event is free. Reservations are encouraged. For further information or to reserve seats, go to mixedblood.com/12x12 or call 612-451-4466.

Our stories begin small, with the everyday, with the questions of What is now? What is 2023? How do we connect to a society that doesn’t always hear or value us? Where do we find joy?
— Alison Bergblom Johnson

About Mixed Blood Theatre: Using theatre to disrupt injustices, advance equity, and build community, Mixed Blood inspires the global village to create ripple effects of social change.

About 12x12:
Join us at the intersection of art and community as Mixed Blood partners with 12 artists—from ice skaters and poets to chefs and theater makers—working in and with 12 Twin Cities neighborhoods to create short performances that reflect each community. Co-created with individuals and organizations, the artistic reflections will highlight the stories and diversity of our communities. Each piece is performed twice: once in the community where it is created and again at Mixed Blood, when all twelve communities will gather in a day-long performance festival celebrating the Twin Cities.
