This event is a celebration of the released of Resmaa Menakem’s new book, THE QUAKING OF AMERICA, in collaboration with Public Functionary and an announcement of the upcoming art exhibition being staged at the Northrup King Building.

This is a one night event so it will be a paired down version of the exhibit but it will set the stage for what is to come. Guests will be encouraged to eat, conversate and celebrate with Resmaa while being surrounded by artwork from The Bureau.

Throughout the evening Resmaa will make periodic statements as well as lead 15-20 minute conversations about the book, the artwork, the full exhibit, and relevant issues in the public and social space. There will be time for questions from the audience as well.
