Please join us in a very special celebration of Indigenous Peoples day at Midtown Global Market. Everyone is invited to attend this free, family-friendly event on Sunday, October 9, 2022 from noon until 2 p.m. in the Central Court.
Included in the experience will be:
• Sean Sherman co-owner Dana Thompson will be honored for their recent James Beard award and presented with Star Quilts
• Vern DeFoe Culinary Program Specialist from NATIFS will host a food demonstration
• The NATIFS team will have samples of their tea and sun butter cookies available (while supplies last)
• Ceremonial Drum and Dance throughout the event by the Spirit Boy Drum & Dance Crew
• Host Mike Goze – CEO of the American Indian Community Development Corp. (AICDC) and a Midtown Global Market board member
Indigenous Food Lab- NATIFS is a professional Indigenous kitchen and training center at the heart of our work establishing a new Indigenous food system that reintegrates Native Foods and Indigenous-focused Education into tribal communities across North America. We envision a future of developing and supporting multiple tribally operated kitchens bringing cultural and nutritional revitalization across North America!
