#LevelUp Workshop: Changing the Narrative through social media

Marz Lovejoy was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, raised in San Diego and Santa Monica, California, and became the woman she is now after many years of grinding in New York. She now lives between The US and Europe with her three children. Marz helped shaped Office Magazine, is founder and Editor in Chief of The Black Utopia, and has recently signed on to be Curator-at-Large for Alvaro Barrington’s new art studio in London. However, various forms of art and entertainment have been Marz’s primary inspiration as well as the backdrop of her career. From professional modeling and acting, writing and producing music, and creating published works in the literary field, Marz continues to evolve in creativity while centering on community and social responsibility.

Her latest projects include Her annual “…And Still We Ride…” bike ride out, celebrating Black women. The live streaming of her son’s birth raised awareness and funds for Black Maternal Health organizations. She has contracted with major brands to be featured in advertising campaigns, where a portion of the profits was donated to nonprofits of Marz’s choice.
