Reframe is an opportunity for local communities to learn about wellness practices from local artists and wellness practitioners. This in-person gathering focuses on bringing community healers and art in conversation with medical students from the University of Minnesota.
For 30 minutes, a medical student and a local artist/practitioner will interact with each other to inspire people to engage holistic wellness practices. Then, the community will be invited to engage in conversation with our special guests to provide feedback and thoughts on how we stay well.
The featured guests for October 29, 2022 are Tamiko French, an artist and community practitioner, and Boraan Abdulkarim, an artist and medical student. Using their experiences, they will participate in Reframe to address sustainable wellness practices and promote self-care as a healthy form of resistance to injustice.
This event is created by community partners in collaboration with black medical students. This event is sponsored by the University of Minnesota and REACH Twin Cities.
