Free mentorship program for LGBTQ+ youth!
Are you or do you know an LGBTQ+ youth who needs an LGBTQ+ mentor? Do you identify as LGBTQ+ and are committed to building a more resilient and proud LGBTQ+ community?
QUEERSPACE hangouts, an initiative of QUEERSPACE collective, is a free youth-centric intergenerational mentorship program creating safe, inclusive spaces for LGBTQ+ youth and LGBTQ+ adults to connect as their authentic selves. LGBTQ+ mentors will be matched with LGBTQ+ youth based on youth choice, location, identity, orientation and shared interests. Mentors and mentees will connect weekly to hangout, set and accomplish goals, and build resilience through meaningful engagement.
QUEERSPACE provides opportunities for youth and their mentors to participate in group events each month that are social and educational, promote a sense of community and provide both mentors and mentees an opportunity to build relationships with others in the program. Activities include games, BBQ’s, theater queer history, art, and other activities that build community.
QUEERSPACE collective creates space for LGBTQ+ youth to feel safe and empowered to be their true selves. Our vision is for all LGBTQ+ youth to have a network of support to help them develop a strong sense of pride in who they are, where they come from and where they want to go!
