Lake Street Story Circles Project brought together a cohort of ten artists to hold Story Circles and create new performance work about life, spirit, resistance, politics, vision, relationships, history, business, survival and joy.

Grounded on Lake Street, grounded in Minneapolis, grounded in story, in place and each other.

Just as we gathered the 10 artists to begin working on projects the Covid-19 pandemic hit and we went into lock down.  We began meeting with the cohort on Zoom and then in May, George Floyd was murdered by the MPD and the Uprising took place. It was a raw, intense time to make work and the artists all found ways to hold Story Circles online or outside with masks. The artists made films and we shared them on Facebook live and had a zoom artist talk.

Now three years later please join us at Pangea World Theater, 711 W. Lake Street, Minneapolis on June 7, 2023, 6:30-8:30pm to be together and witness these films and then be in conversation with the artists that made them.

These films are a powerful time capsule of an extraordinary time we all lived through.

Please join us for this film and artist roundtable.
