Mixed Blood Theatre Finds Its Next Artistic Director
Jack Reuler cheered the arrival of his successor in a statement announcing Valdez’s appointment.
“Mark has been a resident artist, guest director, playwright, organizer, advisor, confidant, and friend to Mixed Blood and me since 2006,” said Reuler. “I can’t wait to see how this progressive organization will evolve under his leadership.”

In February 2021, Redesign signed a purchase agreement with the sellers of the Coliseum Building (2700 E Lake Street) to protect it from demolition and recreate a space that offers opportunities for small businesses on Lake Street to thrive.
Business Resource Collective
The Business Resource Collective, (learn more about them here: https://www.reachtwincities.org/blog/bipoc-small-business-covid-coalition) is advocating with state leaders for essential resources and components in the omnibus bill to support small, BIPOC-owned businesses.
RESTORE REBUILD REIMAGINE FUND
The Restore Rebuild Reimagine Fund has been established to assist business owners in the Lake Street, West Broadway, and Midway areas. So far, Approximately 350+ businesses assisted. $15M estimated spent by multiple organizations.
Twin Cities Community Rebuilding Coalition
A group of 20+ nonprofits, community groups, businesses, and associations coming together to address the restoration of small businesses, community centers, homes, arts organizations, and other vital assets impacted by the unrest surrounding George Floyd’s death.
Business Resource Collective
The BIPOC Small Business & COVID Coalition is led by over twenty cultural and place-based business associations, arts organizations, chambers of commerce and BIPOC-led community organizations.
