End of Phase One for Coliseum Building Redevelopment
Poems and colorful graphic design by some of the Twin Cities’ leading visual and literary artists will wrap the historic Coliseum Building on East Lake and 27th Street, marking the completion of its Phase One redevelopment by Redesign, Inc.
Coliseum Building Update
The redevelopment will provide 85,000 sq. ft of commercial/retail/office space and incubator space for local BIPOC professionals and BIPOC-led firms. It will serve as a retail and commercial hub for the East Lake Street community and catalyze future adjacent development.
Native Art Space at MIA
Recently, we changed Mia’s Native Art galleries. In our hearts and minds, as curators during this time of reckoning for museums all over the globe, we knew that our responsibility was to upend the typical narratives. We set out for nothing less.
“New Dawn” chosen for Midtown Greenway Sculpture
The solar-powered sculpture will be located in East Phillips, a majority BIPOC neighborhood that has experienced continued racial health disparities due to toxic environmental pollution. While one light-emitting sculpture cannot erase years of neglect, it can become a beacon of hope and help light a new way forward for this neighborhood and our community.
